From Safety Culture to AI: Inside The Future Is WOW 2025
What do Lamot Mechelen, De Koninck, and De Hoorn have in common? They’ve all hosted The Future Is WOW. And yes — they’re all breweries. It’s less a coincidence and more who we are at this point. We could pretend it’s because we love “brewing ideas,” “crafting partnerships,” or “tapping into your insights,” but honestly? We just enjoy a bit of old-fashioned hops-pitality. (Don’t worry, that’s the last pun. Probably.)
This year felt especially close to home. Literally. Because we hosted it at De Hoorn, the former Stella Artois brewery, and our new Leuven HQ.
As always, we aimed for a mix of conversation, practical sessions, and good food — and the day delivered. Here’s how it all unfolded.
12:30
People trickle in, badges in hand, eyes on the broodjes. Within minutes, old friends are catching up, and new faces are finding common ground.
13:10
We’re starting late…but who’s going to interrupt a room full of people having a great chat? Not us.
Once everyone finds their seat, Bastiaan kicks things off with a brief report on the state of manufacturing, EHSQ, and TenForce. It’s the gentle nudge from “lunch mode” to “thinking mode” we all needed.
13:30
Time for our first guest speaker. Long-time TenForce friend Mark De Vriendt from Proximus steps up to share how they’ve kept field workers safe for over a decade. The audience loves hearing how RoSi has grown up and how remote inspections speed things up whilst keeping field teams safe.
14:00
Next up, Arne and Koen give a whistle-stop tour of our core modules. These two have spent months working on a lean, fast-to-value implementation approach. And it shows as they tag-team their way through customer stories, best practices, and a few “trust us, we’ve seen things” insights.
14:30
Everyone rushes for the coffee machine. What they don’t know is that a small drama is unfolding behind the scenes. After an early start in Germany, our next speaker, Vynova’s Andreas Scholz, is stranded at a train station just outside Leuven.
Cue Myriam, who takes one look at the situation, grabs her keys, and heads out the door. A quick drive and she’s guiding Andreas into the fray like it’s all part of the agenda.
15:00 – We bump Sofie and Clio up the schedule to give Andreas a moment to catch his breath. They give the room a peek at what it takes to keep TenForce running smoothly. It’s a useful reminder that once a project goes live, the support doesn’t just poof into thin air. You’re backed by teams who keep the platform stable, secure, and steadily improving. In short, at TenForce, delivering wow moments is a team sport.
15:30 – Then it’s Andreas’ turn. And thank goodness he didn’t stay stuck on that platform, because his session is one of the day’s standouts. He gives a candid look at what it really takes to strengthen safety culture across a multinational chemical company. You can hear the “yep, that’s familiar” murmurs around the room.
Rolling out Process Safety Fundamentals, he says, was a real turning point in reversing a spike in process safety events. Since then, Vynova has experienced fewer incidents and better hazard awareness. Before he wraps up, hands are already in the air.
16:15 – We’re running behind schedule, but there was no stopping the Q&A for Andreas’ session. Now it’s time for the “future” bit of The Future Is WOW. Uroš and Tobias take the stage to walk us through what’s new and what’s coming next.
They kick things off with mobile, where logins are quicker (up to 50% faster), and images upload about 20% faster. From there, they jump into the refreshed platform experience, easier access to new features, and cleaner configuration options — all designed to help teams match their processes, faster.
The new AI add-ons for Permit to Work, Incident Management, and Audits & Inspections steal the show. Think of them as the extra set of eyes (and brain cells) we all secretly want on a Monday morning.
16:45 – After a quick group photo, there’s nothing standing between us and the apéro. Conversations spill into the evening, and the energy stays high long after the formal program ends. A few attendees stick around (always a good sign) and join us for dinner.
Somewhere between the main course and dessert, Tobias even hosts an impromptu workshop with Unilin’s Geoffrey Breyne. Because when two passionate EHSQ brains share a table, of course, someone’s opening a laptop.
